There is wide variety of green tea , differentlated by such factors as growing methods, timeing of leaves's harvest, and processing methods.

Gunpowder : This is one of the most popular types of chinese green teas. This tea is still primarily grown in the Zhejian Province of China,About Chinese Types of Green Tea Articles although plantations for this tea are spreading elsewhere in China. One of the characteristics of this tea is that, once processed, the tea looks like tiny pellets. These pellets open up during the brewing process.

 

Long Jing (Dragonwell) : This tea is most commonly known as Dragonwell Green Tea, at least here in the US. This tea is also produced in the Zhejian Province of China. Once processed, the leaves tend to be flat and have a jade color. Dragonwell is one of the most popular green teas.

 

Mao Jian : This tea is grown in the Henan Province. The leaves are very fine. This green tea is popularly known as "green tip."

 

Matcha : Matcha is a powdered green tea. The is manufactured in the Uji region of Japan. Tea is grown primarily in the shade. This tea is commonly used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony.

 

Anji Bai Cha : Anji Bai Cha is a high quality Green Tea made from the same varietal of ‘Big White’ tea plant as Yin Zhen. Oxidation is stopped by firing to give a more pronounced depth of flavour to the young leaves, which are arrow shaped and feathery in appearance.

 

Zi Sun Cha : It is a type of Chinese green tea which is known for its fresh aroma, sweet taste and health benefits. The unprocessed leaves are partly purple in color and they have a narrow shape which looks like a bamboo shoot, so it is also called as “purple bamboo shoot tea”. Zi Sun Cha is recorded as one of the first teas in the book Cha Jing, authored by the popular tea master Lu Yu. The tea is also known as “Chang Xing Zi Sun”. When you take a close look at the floating leaves, they will look like Chinese orchids.

Green Tea is high in antioxidants and relatively low in caffeine. The relatively light processing, used to make Green Teas, causes them to have particularly high levels of catechin polyphenols - the most important of which is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a powerful antioxidant which has been linked to inhibiting cancer and heart disease. Although there are different types of green tea which have been grown and produced all over the world today, But it is the healthiest drink on the planet.
