Chicken soup from New York

A Chicken soup really needs salt, preferably coarse salt. If you must avoid salt, know that the flavor will be greatly diminished. Adding no-salt or low-sodium broth concentrate will help. Chicken feet add not only robust flavor, but gelatinous body to the soup. If you are planning ahead, cook the chicken with vegetables and herbs. Freeze the strained stock. If your planned future use includes chicken meat, freeze the meat in the stock to keep it from drying out.

According to Chef Herschel defines that the Chicken soup is a well-known for its medicinal qualities. The University of Nebraska Medical Center in America found that chicken soup has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe cold-ridden, stuffy noses and sore throats. It is rich in protein and vegetables and acts as a placebo that warms one's insides.

Soups are a good standby for everyday meals and are very economical to make because they can usually be varied to include whatever ingredients you have in the house, from the stock in which meat or chicken has been cooked to the leftovers you may have from vegetables or fish dishes.

Modern research conducted by Dr. Stephen Rennard, professor of pulmonary and critical care medicine, and his colleagues at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha suggests that there might be some scientific basis for the belief in the curative powers of chicken soup. They found that the particular blend of nutrients and vitamins in traditional chicken soup can slow the activity of certain white blood cells. This may have an anti-inflammatory effect that could hypothetically lead to temporary ease from symptoms of illness. Their research was published in 2000 in the scientific journal Chest[2]. This was not, however, an in vivo clinical trial, and did not demonstrate that chicken soup was the best foodstuff for this purpose. Please send your review to Indo Munch.
