Gourmet Fruits: Unique Holiday Gifts

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the likes are important days that usually require remembering your loved ones and friends, and giving them gifts to remember you by. Sometimes, giving the usual presents like a shirt, perfume, shoes, etc. can be very common. If unique gifts are what you want to give those special people in your life, why not opt for gourmet gift baskets?

The giving of gourmet fruits as holiday presents is becoming more and more popular. There are actually a lot of reasons why. Aside from the uniqueness of the said type of gifts, it is very unlikely for you to come across a person who will not completely appreciate receiving gourmet gift baskets for Thanksgiving or for Christmas. Another reason why giving gourmet fruits as presents is recommended is because of the fact that they can really be enjoyed by not only the receiver, but the rest of the receiver’s family, relatives, or group of friends --- whoever the receiver wants to share the basket with.

Supermarkets and malls nowadays have great selections of gourmet gift baskets you can pick from, with some baskets having affordable price tags of $50 to $60, while the more premier ones may range from $80 up to $120, sometimes even more. Though some people may think that gourmet fruits can be quite pricey as compared to more common presents, buying those baskets is usually worth it, especially when you see the smile of appreciation on your receiver’s face.

Some gift baskets do not only boast of fruits, but may also include chocolates and wine. Others may also have a mix of fruits and some ingredients like pasta, spaghetti sauce, cocoa powder, and a lot more which may be used in cooking your holiday meal. There are gift baskets that are simply wrapped in clear plastic, while others are wrapped in colored cellophane complete with ribbons, and other accessories that add to the uniqueness of gourmet gift baskets.

Aside from purchasing the said gift baskets from stores and supermarkets, you also have the option of making one yourself. The usual gourmet fruits that you can place in a gift basket include: apples, pears, oranges, berries, etc. It is best to choose fruits of different colors to make your arrangement eye-catching. For example, you may purchase 6 apples, 6 oranges, two dozen berries, and so on, then arrange them in such a way that your receiver gets amazed with the variety of colors found in the basket, of course, aside from finding his or her mouth watering at the sight of delicious fruits.

Once you have decided on which gourmet fruits to include, you can then proceed to purchasing baskets from garage sales or malls. You have to make sure though that you purchase baskets that have the right size to hold the quantity of fruits you plan to give your loved ones during the holidays. You should also remember to buy some ribbons, and wrapping plastic e.g. cellophanes that you can use to accessorize and package the baskets you are planning to give.
