How To Liven Up A Cheap Frozen Pizza

It's entirely possible to take the cheapest frozen pizza at your grocery store and turn it into something incredible. Here are some ideas for customizing your frozen pie.

Are you craving pizza but your money's a little tight? If so, there are some simple ways that you can save and still enjoy a high quality pie. You can buy a frozen pizza from your grocery store for a couple of dollars and turn it into a gourmet masterpiece, even if your cooking skills stink. Here are some ways to do it.

Add More Cheese

While you're at the store, go cheese shopping. Simple sliced or grated mozzarella cheese added to your pie will make it more flavorful. If you really want to get creative, make your own unique blended cheese by buying some cheddar, provolone, parmesan, Romano or jack.

If your budget's really tight, just throw on some leftover cheese that you've got at home. Even those bright orange slices of processed American cheese will liven up the flavor of your frozen pie quite a bit.

Toss A Few Eggs On It

Get that pie and put it in the oven according to the instructions on the box. Now, halfway through cooking or just when it's starting to near completion, take a couple of eggs out of the refrigerator. Take it out of the oven and crack those eggs over it. Spread them over the pie without breaking the yokes.

When it's done, you'll have well-cooked eggs on top. If you did it right, the yokes will be runny and gooey, adding flavor to your pie and oozing all over the place.

Spice It Up

Before you pop it in the oven, saute some chili peppers. You can usually do the sauteing while the oven is preheating. Put those sauteed chili peppers on top and add a bit of flavor to an otherwise dull pie.

Deep Fry Glasgow-Style

The rumor is true -- in Scotland they eat deep-fried pizzas. If you've got a deep fryer, you can do it too. After it's cooked, take half of it and roll in batter. Folding the slices is optional. Next, drop them into the deep fryer and keep them in there until they're golden brown. What you'll have is a crispy treat that's gooey and cheesy on the inside. The fact that it was a frozen pie won't affect the taste at all.

Go Wild With Toppings

You can always buy a regular cheese pizza and just add everything you want yourself. As long as it's a brand where the crust bakes up crispy, you'll be alright. Usually, the toppings are what stink the most about frozen pizzas anyway. Get creative with fresh vegetables, herbs, meats and any wild idea you have for your toppings. If you add the right toppingsHealth Fitness Articles, you can manage to cook a frozen pie that tastes just as good as anything they've got at your local pizzeria.
