It is important for everyone to know how to order pizza. When times get tough and you are not in the mood to fix dinner, you can and order your favorite food in a manner of minutes.

Make a list of what you want ahead of time. If you are ordering for other people, make sure you know what they want as well. It is rude to have the other person from the pizzeria on the other end waiting for you to confer with everyone.

Understand that you may be placed on hold. Pizzerias get very busy on certain days and certain times. Do not get so impatient that you are rude to the other person on the phone. Pizzerias are fast-paced environments so they get very busy at times and you just need a little patience. When they ask you to please hold agreed to hold in a polite manner.

Most pizzerias will start out by asking you if you are calling for pickup or delivery. So be sure to let them know what your preference is. If there are special instructions that will be needed for the driver, you need to let the employee know so they can inform the driver. The order taker will then ask you for your order. You want to place your order in the way the pizza is made. Tell them what size you want, then what type of crust such as thin, pan or stuffed crust, and then add your toppings. If you are sharing a pie and you want different toppings on the Italian pie, be sure to tell the employee something to the effect that you want half the pizza with mushroom and bacon and the other half with onions only.

If you have a coupon, be sure to let the employee know before she gives you your total. If you wait until the driver gets there, if you're having it delivered, they will have the wrong total amount and that will take some time for them to readjust your total. If you are paying by credit card, you will need to give the card information over the phone. Then once the driver arrives, you will just need to sign the receipt.

If it is nighttime and your order is being delivered, be sure to turn the porch light or garage spot light on for the driver. It is also important to ask about the delivery time before you place your order that way if the delivery time is too long you can just not place your order instead of having to cancel everything out.
