As the old saying goes,Avoiding A Stroke With Every Bite Articles you are what you eat. Nothing can be more true to point and when it comes to the foods you select you may just be choosing foods that are more likely to bring on a stroke. Incidence of stroke is on the rise and while strokes are not always deadly events they can significantly and permanently change your life for the worse. The following are just a few of the foods that have been documented as bringing on a stroke.

Most of the snacks found in the grocery store especially in the bakery section as well as chips, pastries and crackers are all high in trans fats and this most definitely is not good for your health. If you think foods with a high hydrogenated oil content is your friend, you don't need any enemies. It will keep the food deceptively fresh but it will kill you. Everyone should be aware of the greasy fast foods and how unhealthy they are for anyone who sets down to such a meal or even snack.

Smoked and processed meat are foods to avoid if you are looking to stay healthy and avoid a stroke or cardiac episode. By processed meat we are talking about specifically processed deli meats, sausages, bacon, and hot dogs just to name a few. These meats tend to be bad in two different ways. First the meats with these high nitrate content have been known to cause problems to the blood vessels in the body but in addition to that the sodium content for these items is over the top crazy.

Of all the items to avoid on the stoke causing food list, without a doubt, diet soda ranks at the top of every researched list of bad foods to consume. The word "diet" is where the confusion starts. Many people think that this has to be more healthier than regular soda, but the facts are that diet soda drinkers are at a 45% higher risk of a stroke than non diet soda drinkers. Most all nutritionists now know that soda, diet or not, should be avoided all together because soda is a stroke stimulator.

Red meat is something that most avoid but perhaps more so because of its fat content. For those who enjoy a nice steak every once in a while it is likely that you can do so but if you find that you are eating steak several times a week then you are best off finding more balance before you wind up having a heart attack or stroke due to this bad habit.

One major downfall in the society that we live in comes in the form of prepackaged foods that we consume everyday. Most if not all of these foods need to be avoided if we desire to get and stay healthy and not be plagued with personal health issues that these foods contribute to. We as a society, mostly because of lack of time issues, have allowed these preprocessed and packaged foods to replace the home cooked from scratch meals that were packed with nutritional value which is much different than what we are choosing to eat today. Excessive sodium, calorie and additional fat content that is very void of nutrition and contributes hugely to heart attacks and strokes. We are what we eat; garbage can or a lean prime example of the human species. The next time you are food shopping, keep this information on you shopping list. It will help you live a healthy, long and happy life without the complications of avoidable health issues later in life.
