When you start looking for breast augmentation information online,Breast Augmentation: Some Penetrating Questions Articles you often find articles in two categories. The first category is bland, positive information that is designed to subtly lead a patient into the doctor's office for an initial consultation. The second category belongs to articles that hardly say anything at all beyond repeating the most basic information. These articles don't do anyone any good. If you want some more interesting questions answered before you make your decision about whether to get implants, here are some that go beyond the surface.

Why Does Rippling Occur?

If you've seen enough pictures of breast augmentation patients, you've probably noticed that a small percentage of women experience "rippling" after getting the surgery. This is a wholly preventable phenomenon that is dependent on making it a priority before the procedure to eliminate the likelihood. When you put the implant below the chest muscle, use only a size of implant that can be adequately covered by the existing breast tissue and them inflate the implant correctly, the chances of rippling are very small. Doctors who don't adhere to these principles or have patients that demand bigger implants than their frames can handle often wind up with less than desirable results.

Breast Augmentation or Lift?

If you are concerned with sagging, you may be wondering whether it is better to go with an implant or a lift. Most doctors will recommend going with a lift to correct ptosis, although putting this together with an implant is a common technique and can often give the best possible results. Implants by themselves won't correct the problem in the right way and can lead to an appearance that is a bit strange. A lift by itself will correct the problem, but the end result may not be as dramatic as the patient had hoped for.

Do You Evaluate Size With CC's?

Often, you'll hear women say their implants are such and such CC's, as if this gives anyone an indication of how big they are. This is usually not the case, as it doesn't take into consideration the woman's starting point. If you're going from a large B to a small C cup, what is the number of CC's going to tell you about the relative change? Very little. On the other hand, if you're going from an A cup to a D cup, it's going to take a considerable implant. But even so, it's not an indication that the resulting breasts are going to be ridiculously large.
