Breast Augmentation: Why You Must Opt For It

As the name implies, breast surgery is a type of surgical procedure that is done to the breasts. Here we explore why a woman would want to have augmentation.

There are a variety of procedures performed by plastic surgeons to improve the look of the breasts such as augmentation (implants), a lift and reconstruction.

Augmentation is a kind of surgery where implants are placed inside to make them look larger. Many women with a smaller bust seek out this type of procedure in order to have firmer and more voluptuous looking breasts. This is one common reason given for wanting to have surgery of this type.

Some women have difficulty fitting into certain types of clothing because of their bra size and still others feel self-conscious or downright embarrassed at the sight of their small bosom when they wear tight or revealing clothing such as tank tops, summer dresses or swim wear. These are also valid reason for wanting to have this operation.

One person’s motivation for wanting to have augmentation may be different from another’s. Some women have one reason while others may have a combination of reasons. Let us consider some of the factors that go into the decision to say yes to implants.

The number one reason given by women for wanting this breast surgery is to transform small flat breasts into larger more womanly looking bosom. Size is not the only one thing that you need to consider. Some women do not like the shape of their bosom either. If you long for fuller and rounder breasts then implants can make this a reality for you.

If they are asymmetrical or lopsided then that is another reason. It has been theorized that both breasts on a woman are not the exact same anatomical size but for most females the difference is hardly noticeable. However if yours do have a definite difference to them that is obvious to you then breast surgery can correct this problem. The same can be said of congenital deformities.

The post-pregnancy bosom can look dramatically different than the pre-pregnancy one. If your chest no longer looks the way you want it to then consider having what plastic surgeons refer to as a “mommy makeover.” A mommy makeover is a combination of cosmetic procedures that can help to counteract the distressing physical effects of both being pregnant as well as giving birth. Such a makeover includes augmentation and a lift but can also include work in other areas of the body ravaged by pregnancy. A mommy makeover can also include a tummy tuck, liposuction and/or a buttock lift.

It is not uncommon for a female patient to be given implants at the same time as she is undergoing reconstruction following surgery for cancer. The reconstruction process can take place in one of two waysFeature Articles, either implant can be placed in the chest or else a woman’s own fat and tissue can be excised from her abdomen and used to fill them.
