Candida Overgrowth Symptoms - How to Tell If You're Suffering from Candidiasis

Common and less obvious candida overgrowth symptoms and why getting rid of this underlying disease will pave the way for a healthy body

Candida overgrowth symptoms manifest differently for each person. The type of Candidiasis symptom will depend on how severe the condition is and on whether the patient has another underlying disease that makes him or her susceptible to yeast infection or Candidiasis.

The symptoms of Candida albicans infection can appear on the skin, on the genitorurinary system and even manifest in such a way that is not easily obvious to the naked eye; such as stress and lack of focus. Some of the signs of yeast infection are similar to other diseases; hence the usual confusion in determining the true cause.

Common symptoms of Candidiasis

For men who suffer from penile Candida albicans infection, the most common sign is rashes and skin redness, particularly in the foreskin and the head of the penis. For women with vaginal Candidiasis, a white discharge that smells like bread is one of the more common symptoms. Menstrual irregularities and yeast vaginitis that recurs are also quite common. Itching, soreness and a burning feeling are common to both men and women who have this infection.

Less obvious symptoms of Candida albicans infection

There are symptoms that might not be immediately apparent. These include anxiety and irritability, inability to focus and mood swings. In cases when infection is already rampant, depression is quite common. Drowsiness, fatigue and poor memory can also be symptoms of Candidiasis.

Skin manifestations of yeast infection

Symptoms that are easily seen and can be readily diagnosed are those that appear on the skin. Rashes, acne and dandruff can be signs of yeast infection. Drying of the skin and hair follicle inflammation can also be due to Candidiasis. In more developed cases, psoriasis and fungal infection in the nails can appear.

Having Candida albicans infection usually leads to constipation, diarrhea, frequent urination, a burning feeling in the rectum and bloating. Indigestion and lack of sexual feeling can also be symptoms of yeast infection or might be results of the condition. A person suffering from Candidiasis may also experience drastic weight gain, problem in sleeping and muscle pain.

Although most Candida overgrowth symptoms are easy enough to seePsychology Articles, determining whether a patient has Candidiasis might not be as easy. This is because most of these symptoms are also associated with other diseases.
