Dangers of ED Medication Consumption in Women

Some women have ventured on taking erectile dysfunction drugs that are made exclusively for men and that can cause several negative effects.

The success of Generic Viagra sales from Internet pharmacies has led many women to wonder whether the male oriented drug will produce the same positive effects for their sexual lives. While the answer may very well be yes, doctors recommend that women wait until adequate studies have been done on the drug’s effects in the body of a woman. Because Generic Viagra and other ED medications like Caverta or Kamagra were created and designed with the body of a man in mind, there may be some risks of female use that could be problematic.

One of the main issues that many physicians see with a woman taking Generic Viagra or Kamagra is the possibility for a different set of side-effects. While the side-effects of men are well documented and are mostly minor, the differences in chemical composition between a man and a woman could mean that the woman will have a very different reaction to the drug. Clinical trials are underway to develop a specialized version of Sildenafil Citrate that is meant for women to use, but it has not been released for sale to the general public just yet. Industry experts expect that it will arrive in no more than one or two years.

The other main issue that leads many doctors to advise women to steer clear of Generic Viagra is the drug’s possible interaction problems with other medications and the resulting treatment of these issues. If a woman who is taking nitrates were to take the medication and then has a heart attack as a result, there is a little chance that emergency doctors would be able to know that she has taken any kind of Generic Viagra as it is not meant for female consumption. This problem could lead to a possible wrong diagnosis or a non-optimal treatment plan. At the same time, this should not be an issue as the drug interactions with Generic ViagraFeature Articles, Kamagra or any other ED med are well-known and documented.
