It is your health in jeopardy, and you have a right to demand professionalism. There are plenty of medical-grade sterilization products offered to licensed professionals; if they are using the same cleaning supplies you have under your kitchen sink, get out of there.
There are too many dentists out there to settle for an unprofessional, improperly trained practitioner. Be picky, ask questions, and make sure you feel comfortable and safe with whoever is taking care of your teeth. One mistake or slip could cause irreversible damage to your teeth and cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars to try to fix.
