As said before, the most common disease of the colon is, of course, colon cancer. Some symptoms that could mean that you have colon cancer are blood in or even on the stools. You may even have very frequent pains and aches in your stomach that are not explainable. A lot of people that have cancer of the colon are also going to see very unexplained weight loss in their body. If you have these kinds of symptoms, you should go see your doctor right away. Even if you do hot have colon cancer, there are other problems that could be causing these symptoms.

Some other diseases of the colon do not have any symptoms. One such disease would have to be the colon polyps. Usually this kind of disease is actually found by mistake during endoscopy or even during x rays. Of course, there are a few things that could come with colon polyps, but before we talk about them, you need to keep one thing in mind. Just because you have these symptoms, that does not mean that you have colon polyps, but these could come along with it. These could be things like bleeding or mucus discharge. You may even notice things like alteration in your bowel functions. In some very rare cases, you could have abdominal pain, but that would be only in very server cases.

Another type of colon disease would be Crohn's disease. There are a lot of symptoms that come along with this one. Of course, keep in mind, once again, that having some of these symptoms or just having them on an occasion does not mean you have this disease. Things like cramping, fever, weight loss, anal pain, skin lesions, abscess, diarrhea, bloating, or even joint pain can be systems of this. Kids that get this disease are going to see very bad stunted growth. On top of that, nutritional deficiencies may also occur (which would be a cause of the stunted growth). If you are having one or more of these symptoms for a long period of time, you need to contact your doctor. Do keep in mind that having some of these problems every now and then are normal and part of life. They could be a sign that you ate something bad, but does not meant that you have colon disease. So be sure to keep your worries in check at all times.
