Birth control pills and other oral contraceptive pills are basically designed to prevent pregnancy. These are prescription medications which are composed of synthetic hormones. The hormones interfere with your menstrual cycle to prevent unplanned pregnancy. A woman become pregnant when an egg is fertilised by the sperm released from the man’s body. Birth control pills works by modifying the female sex hormones so that no ovary is released from egg and so pregnancy doesn’t occur. There are two types of contraceptive pills-Combined contraceptive pill and mini-pills.
