Fatigue in children is an important thing to deal with. If ignored, it can make children have low performance at school and low self-esteem. Ensuring that the child has proper sleep, nutrition and of course love and care will help them grow healthy and become always energized.

It is characterized by having low energy and feeling sleepy frequently. Tiredness is usually being experienced by adults because they of work and other mental stress. However, kids are also shown to experience fatigue and this can greatly affect several aspects of their lives. Fatigue in kids can lead to less productivity in academics, poor social abilities and even mood swings. Understanding the reasons behind the tiredness being experienced by children is an essential step in helping them deal with it.
What causes fatigue in children? Children can easily become exhausted if they have a poor diet and bad sleeping habit. When they have poor diet, this means that they are not getting good nutrition and the sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals they need to stay healthy. Poor quality of sleep is also to blame for the tiredness in children. With the advancement in technology and the high-tech gadgets that kids have at present, they are more and more things that distract them every night and can cause them to stay up so late. Children could also be experiencing fatigue because of certain health conditions such as infections or anemia. 
What are the signs of fatigue in children? Signs of fatigue in children are sometimes not easily noticeable because children are generally active beings. They love playing around outside with their friends and they love being active. If your child frequently yawns and feel sleepy most of the time, those can be indications of tiredness. Sluggish actions and speech can also be signs that they are experiencing tiredness frequently. Mood swings and tantrums can also be effects of fatigue in children. Therefore, if your child exhibits these signs, you should deal with the problem immediately.
What could be the effects of tiredness in children? Tiredness can affect your child’s life completely. Children are naturally active and sociable. If they are always feeling tired, they will not be able to socialize properly with other people. It is important for children to mingle with people for them to keep up with others and the environment. Tiredness can also cause lack of concentration which can then lead to low grades and poor performance in classes. More serious effects of tiredness are depression and lack of self-confidence which may result to bullying and social isolation. 
How can you prevent and treat tiredness in children? The best way to prevent or treat the tiredness that your child is experiencing is by going to your family doctor. Have your child diagnosed for illnesses that may be causing the tiredness. Helpful tests include blood tests and urine tests. You can also help your child by helping him regulate his sleep. Tell your child to let go of his game consoles or the computer several minutes before bed time. Children need longer time for sleeping than adults so they should always sleep early at night. Lastly, provide your kids the proper nutrition that they need to stay healthy.
