Genital Herpes is one of them. The cause of genital herpes is a strain of herpes simplex virus (HSV), which enters your body through small breaks in your skin or mucous membranes. However, most individuals with HSV-2 infection may never have sores, or they may have very mild signs that they do not even notice or that they mistake for insect bites or another skin condition.

 Genital herpes treatment includes oral prescription antiviral medications, including acyclovir (Zovirax), famciclovir (Famvir) and valacyclovir (Valtrex), to help heal the sores sooner and reduce the frequency of relapses. Condoms are commonly thought to protect against STDs. Condoms are useful in decreasing the spread of certain infections. Avoid excessive heat or sunlight, which makes the irritation more uncomfortable. Do not use perfumed or antibacterial soaps, feminine deodorant, or douches. Wear more comfortable, loose cotton clothing. For pain, you may take aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol), or ibuprofen (Advil). Cool cloths on the affected area may soothe the pain.
