Some of these herbs have wonderful healing properties. There are many medicinal herbs that are widely used to treat common ailments like cough, cold, etc. Apart from all these uses, herbs due to their aphrodisiac properties are used as a love food to improve libido.
Licorice is a flavorful herb with purple flower, spices and a root that contain a sweet substance used as Aphrodisiacs. It is taken along with valerian, clove and nutmeg. Thyme, a small grey green shrub that has been the source of medicines and food flavorings is supposed to have Aphrodisiacs quality. Herbs such as celery, artichokes and asparagus are used for stimulation purpose.
Dates, honey, and milk are also believed to have stimulating qualities. Dry fruits, almonds, cashew nuts, currant, pistachio are also aphrodisiac love foods. Yohimibine is used as an alleged male aphrodisiac. It is an alkaloid obtained from the bark of Yohimbe tree which grows in west central Africa. Shilajit (Mineral pitch) is popular in India as an Ayurvedic aphrodisiac. It is a kind of bitymen which is used with milk.
Aniseed is used as aphrodisiac food and some people believe that eating this seeds will increase libido. Many people believe that almond improves fertility and its aroma stimulates passion in women. Avocado is rich in vitamin B6 which is helpful in increasing male hormone production.
It also contains potassium which aids in regulating the female thyroid gland.
Asparagus is rich in vitamin E, which is believed to stimulate sex hormones that increase sexual powers. Banana is one of the popular aphrodisiac foods used to stimulate sexual desire and power. It contains potassium and B vitamins which are essential for the production of sex hormone.
Some people believe that basil stimulates libido and boosts fertility. Basil also creates a sense of well being in our bodies and minds. Oyster is a powerful aphrodisiac food, rich in zinc, a mineral required for testosterone production. Oyster is also a good source of protein and is very nutritious.
Ginger stimulates circulatory system, which increases sexual powers and desire. Raspberries and strawberries are red in color, which is associated with love and passion, and are high in vitamin C.
