How To Get Glowing Skin In One Day

Learn how you can achieve glowing skin by adding exfoliation to your skin care routine.  Read about what exfoliation is exactly, what it does for your skin, and the different types of exfoliation.

Everyone wants their skin to look the very best it can look.  Ideally we want skin that glows and is free from blemishes.

So, what is the secret to getting skin that glows?  Exfoliation is key in achieving smooth and glowing skin.

Every 24 hours your skin sheds dead skin cells.  However, sebum can cause dead cells to stick and glob on to the surface of your skin which causes your skin to look dull.

When you are young your skin is able to renew itself frequently, roughly every two weeks.  But as we age the renewal process slows down and takes longer, up to 28 days.

The combination of dead skin cells sticking together along with the renewal process slowing down makes for less than optimal skin.

In order to reveal smooth skin you need to help the process along by sloughing off the dead skin with exfoliation.  By using an effective product to exfoliate the skin you can polish the surface of your skin, diminish acne scars, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and achieve the look of healthy, glowing skin.  Exfoliating also allows any skin care products you may be using to penetrate more effectively.

There are different ways in which you can exfoliate the skin’s surface; enzymes, manual, chemical, and home systems.

Enzymes

An enzyme exfoliant is typically found in the form of a mask that contains enzymes derived from pineapple, papaya, or pumpkin.  Enzyme exfoliants gently break down the bond that holds the dead skin cells and help to accelerate the skin’ s natural exfoliation process.

Manual

Manual exfoliation is achieved simply by using a scrub with granules in it or a washcloth to rub off the dead skin cells.

Chemical Exfoliation

This type of exfoliation is achieved by chemicals such as alpha hydroxyl acids, beta hydroxyl acids, or retinoids.  These chemicals eliminate dead skin cells and help you skin shed faster.

At Home Microdermabrasion

This process uses a tool to gently “sand” the surface of the skin while at the same time uses a suction to gently vacuum up all of the dead skin.  This type of exfoliation also helps to speed up the renewal process and helps to soften scars, linesFree Articles, and wrinkles.

Whatever form of exfoliation you choose it should be done 2-3 times a week and you will quickly begin to see glowing results.  Exfoliation is crucial to having healthy skin that is radiant and glowing.
