Importance of Immune System Supplements for Children

Nutritional deficiencies may cause lots of problems in a human body. The major problem which a man can complain of is the degeneration of cellular immune functions. It is a well known fact that manís immune system starts getting low with the age. A common fact about it is that there occur nutritional deficiencies in the body after a certain age and this leads to the weakening of the immune system.

Vitamin E: it imparts optimum efficiency to fatty acids after being absorbed into cells. It creates a protective shield against any infection or inflammation. Vitamin A:† for efficient digestion of protein and the growth and repair of body tissues, vitamin A is a good supplement. Apart from that strong bones and teeth, good eyesight, T-lymphocytes, white blood cells, and the respiratory, digestive, and urinary tracts cells need this vitamin for healthy function. Regular dose of this vitamin is very important for children.†

Zinc: it works as antioxidants by boosting immune function which keeps infections at bay. Many enzyme reactions involve this element as a cofactor. It is advised that it should be taken with copper, when it has to be taken for a long period of time.†

Vitamin C:† it has multi-function in the body, as it has antibiotic qualities, anti-inflammatory effects, and antioxidant activity. It is very important to take this vitamin particularly in winter. For older children, its dose is 1,000 mg, and 500 mg for children under 3 years old.†
