Ever wondered why certain celebrities haven't bothered to fix their less than stellar smiles?

Who can benefit from an Invisalign treatment? Most recently,Invisalign And The Celebrities That Would Benefit Articles movie and television star Katherine Heigl has been spotted sporting these invisible braces. Many celebrities are choosing this treatment due to its inconspicuous nature. It allows them to continue working without changing their overall appearance. Over time, their smile will improve but without the need to wear metal wires and brackets across their teeth for one to two years. You'll probably never realize when many of these stars have undergone orthodontic treatment, but there are still many that remain resistant to change. Here are some common orthodontic problems that Invisalign can correct, but that many celebrities still choose to show off.

Snaggletooth
Many female celebrities in particular suffer from a crooked canine. The snaggletooth, as it is sometimes referred to, is one or two of the canine teeth, located towards the front of the upper row. It can become twisted or protrude outwards, making it the focal point. One of the most notable celebrities with this condition is Kirsten Dunst. Although she's starred in several major blockbusters including Spiderman and Marie Antoinette, the spunky beauty has never been known for having a perfect smile. In fact, she has been mocked in several magazines for her snaggleteeth and rabbit-like front teeth. While Invisalign may have been able to straighten out the starlet's crooked grin, veneers could also help cap the offending teeth, creating a more even and symmetrical appearance that should finally match up with her impressive film credits. Other examples of women with snaggletooth in the media are singers Avril Lavigne and Jewel.

Crooked
The most common reason for corrective orthodontics is crooked and unevenly spaced teeth. Invisalign will close gaps and straighten out twisted smiles. The more severe the problem, the longer it will take to complete the treatment. There may also be a need to remove some teeth if there is visible overcrowding. A famous example of a noticeably crooked smile is award-winning actor Steve Buscemi. Even with a less-than-beautiful grin, he has managed to make a name for himself acting in such memorable movies as Fargo, Con Air, and The Big Lebowski. However, his crooked teeth have always been a hot topic in Hollywood and might even be the reason he continues to be such a unique character in the industry. He isn't the only high-profile celeb with questionable chompers. Kate Moss has often been criticized for a set of crooked and off-pearly whites.

Gap-toothed
Few people are born with perfectly spaced teeth, and a common area for a gap to develop is right between the two upper front teeth. This can be fixed via traditional braces, Invisalign, veneers, or crowns. Gaps are fairly straightforward to fix if the rest of the teeth are in good position. Many celebrities and models have opted to maintain this flaw and even exploit it. Madonna is probably the most well-know gap flaunter, while several models and actresses such as Georgia Jagger, Anna Paquin, Lauren Hutton, and Vanessa Paradis are known for theirs as well.
