Learning about LiposuctionA minimal liposuction can provide the jumpstart needed to rebuild my confidence and help my body begin to respond to my workouts and diet instead of constantly struggling to burn stubborn fat. It feels as though I woke up one day and the exercises and meal plan I set for myself no longer have an impact. It is as if the work I’ve always done to lose weight or maintain my weight is struggling against my body. The fat has just slowly piled on over the past few years as I get closer and closer to 30 years of age. I wonder if the weight will ever come off, specifically the fat. I can feel the fat under my skin then I press harder to the tough muscles underneath it all. There have been rolls on my belly and inches to pinch all over for a long time now. I haven’t been overweight all of my life, but I have been struggling. Am I a good candidate for liposuction?I’ve learned that liposuction is defined as the medical cosmetic procedure where excess fat deposits are suctioned from under the subcutaneous layer of skin. A local anesthesia, laser, and/or ultrasonic wave method may be used to loosen/liquefy and remove the fat. The technique application is dependent upon the patient’s wishes, the surgeon’s familiarity (training), and the area of the body to be operated on. As a result of my findings, I understand that this surgical procedure is not a quick fix and can take 3 to 6 months for draining, swelling, and bruising to subside and reveal my slimmer and toner self. And the results can last. I don’t want to have to struggle with my weight for the rest of my life. I also discovered that the ideal candidate description does not exclude someone my size with only a liter or two to lose. The description states that the procedure is ideal for an otherwise healthy man or woman whose diet and exercising routines are not making the desired impact on immovable subcutaneous fat cells. Most doctors stick to a 3 to 4 liter maximum for each procedure. I don’t know specifically if I’ll need a round two, but the first step is to get in to a consultation with an expert plastic surgeon that specializes in liposuction. I can’t wait to tell the doctor my BMI (Body Mass Index) and find out how the procedure can help me. My body fat to overall weight ratio is much too high and too visible for someone my age, height , and who exercises as hard as I do every day. I know that I am not alone here. My body’s changing and I have to adapt with it. Liposuction can be the kickstart I need to motivate me and get me right back on track.
