Natural Remedies for Panic Attacks: Say No to Drugs

Even if you suffer from the biggest, meanest panic attacks, drugs are not the answer: natural remedies for your panic attacks are. Panic attacks range from mild to full-blown, where you may “feel” you are dying. Then, the moment you feel a panic attack coming on, drop down and fight out 10 or 20 pushups, even if you must do them off your knees or can only go down half way. Have a jump rope handy and start jumping if you prefer that over pushups. Or head outside and run as fast as you can down the street. Such activities will diffuse the panic attack.

The way this works is simple: When you exert your body with intense exercise, your body will “forget” it’s having a panic attack, and the attack will quickly diminish as your body’s “attention” is diverted to the exercise. This ploy works for all fitness levels, so even if you’re heavy or haven’t exercised for a while, engage in a routine that’s difficult the moment you feel the panic attack coming on.

If you’re very fit, do clapping pushups, squat jumps or sprint down the street. If you’re not so fit, then do jumping jacks, quickly go up and down your staircase or take a brisk, arm-pumping walk with high knees. Keep thinking, It’s all in my mind and I am stronger than any panic attack.
