Pasta and Weight Loss

Moderate amounts of pasta may have benefic effects on a diet because they give you a sense of fullness and contain nutrients. However, large amounts of pasta along with meat, a lot of sauce, or cheese are not indicated for a weight loss program or a maintenance program.

The best way to consume pasta in order to achieve the best results is to add tomato sauce, fresh vegetables such as mushrooms, green bean, spinach, or broccoli, and a few drops of olive oil.

On the market you find a large variety of pasta, but you should choose whole-grain pasta because they are rich in fibers, minerals, and vitamin B.

A large study that involved almost 75,000 women and watched them for twelve years showed that women who usually consume whole-grain pasta managed to lose weight on long-term, while those who regularly consumed white-flour pasta gained weight significantly.

Whole-grain pasta is rich in nutrients because they also contain unmodified vitamins and minerals such as copper, zincFeature Articles, and magnesium. You may also consume pasta at the restaurant as long as they are healthy cooked and you reduce the portion size.
