Plastic Surgery - Procedures for Men

Plastic surgery is probably typically thought of as something that a woman would get, but there are many men who need and likely do get procedures done. There are procedures that a man can get to reshape his body.

Women are not the only people that struggle with those hard to get rid of pockets of fat. Men can struggle with this as well. The trouble spots on a man may differ to some degree than that of a woman, but they still have trouble spots nonetheless. Many men might decide to just live with their issues or do some form of exercise to get rid of the problem. Exercise and dieting is a great option, but many of those trouble spots simply will not go away. If you are a man who finds yourself in fairly good physical shape, but you have 10-15 pounds of weight in some trouble areas, then you might find liposuction plastic surgery to be a positive option for you.

To some men the thought of liposuction might sound embarrassing. If you struggle with some trouble spots you should not feel embarrassed about fixing it. That weight can affect other parts of your body negatively, so it may be wise to take care of this. This type of plastic surgery is not for the severely overweight or for those with serious physical issues.

There are a few different types of liposuction that a man can get, but it will likely depend on the clinic that you choose as to what techniques are available. There is the general liposuction procedure that makes an incision and uses a cannula to get rid of excess fat by suction. There are forms of liposuction that will take out the fat and put water in its place. This type of liposuction is called wet or super wet. Another type is called tumescent liposuction which creates more space for the suction device. Power-assisted liposuction is also a type, and it takes away the need for the surgeon to do as much. Ultrasound liposuction is another form, and it breaks up the fat from the outside.

When considering getting liposuction it is important to consider the elasticity of your skin. The younger you are the more elastic your skin will be. If you are older and have been involved in smoking or have a lot of sun damage then your elasticity may not be good, and because of this you will not get the results you are hoping for in your plastic surgery. If you have poor elasticity, your liposuction will need to be followed by another surgery to remove excess skin or to tighten it up. This will not leave your body looking as attractive as if you did not have it because of scarring.

Severe physical issues are another reason why you may not be able to have this plastic surgery. If you have circulation problems, heart issues, infections, or diabetes, then you will probably not be allowed to have these procedures.

These procedures should not be taken lightly, and they can have side effects. There are the typical results such as swelling, pain, numbness, and bruising. You could also have mobility that is restricted and you will likely have some scarring as with most surgeries that have an incision. More serious side effects can also take placeArticle Submission, but it is rarer. You will want to speak to your surgeon to find out specifics for your specific surgery.
