You Must Be Generally Healthy

In order to undergo plastic surgery, you must be in good health. You will need to be close to your ideal weight, and have your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels under control. You may not be able to have a cosmetic procedure if you suffer from a bleeding disorder, diabetes, or another chronic health condition. You may also be evaluated for depression, eating disorders, and other psychological conditions, to ensure that you are in the right state of mind and are having surgery for the right reasons.

You Must Stop Smoking

Surgeons often will not operate on smokers, and will ask that you quite before you schedule your surgery. Smoking impairs the body’s ability to heal, and you will likely be asked not to smoke for one month before and one month after your surgery.
