Any issues or complications are addressed and anything that could potentially become a problem in the future is discussed. The patient walks away educated about his or her recovery.

Individuals who do not have the education, training, or background to complete these procedures don't typically meet with patients for a follow up. Now the patient is left to take care of him or herself, looking to their primary care physician for answers when things get bad.
