Furthermore, there are a ton of chains and chair rental shops that can provide the services. Chains may be really affordable yet, quality may suffer. That’s because stylists get low commissions. With a chair rental salon, stylists get to charge their own fees and get all of the income. They pay a fee to rent the chair or station and are usually more experienced. 

Set up a consultation
Once you narrow down your search to a few locations, make sure to schedule a consultation at the salon so you can discuss the ins and outs of a visit. For instance, during this time, the stylist will want to thoroughly assess your hair and offer some styling options that complement your overall look. Let your stylist know what look you’re trying to achieve. Also, be sure to have your hair as natural as possible, meaning don’t wear hair extensions or exotic styles to your consultation. This won’t help your stylist see your true hair, limiting her ability to provide a good style for you.
