Stay Young For Longer - Rejuvenate Yourself With Age Busting Hormones

It's not that we age but how we age that matters and the how is what we have a lot of control over and will govern how this process affects us in the years to come.

Aging is not simply about decay; it is an accumulation of choices about exercise and food that are made every day and consequences of these choices. This will determine if our later years are lived with comfort, independence and high physical activity or those years are lived with infirmity and disease.

A lot of attention is being placed these days on the subject of hormones and how, as we age our body gradually decreases the amount it makes for us. Around age 30, or even earlier the body produces less and less of the hormones that were keeping us young, healthy, fit and kept our body in good shape.

Once we hit 40, 50 or more it becomes critical that we do the things we need to do to keep ourselves healthy and reduce our risk of disability or even an early death through some dreaded disease that wants to make a statistic out of us.

Far and away the most important thing we can do to offset the aging process is a proper exercise program. Training at the right intensity level forces the body out of its comfort zone and this creates a hormonal response to keep it going. This release of a protein hormone in particular called human growth hormone is in direct opposition to the aging process.

With our body producing fewer hormones over time this leads to the inability to rebuild ourselves until we eventually break down and our time on this planet is terminated. Proper exercise such as strength training exercise counteracts this by forcing our bodies to produce more hormones that are produced naturally at a given age.

This keeps our muscles, bones, and every organ and cell in our body from deteriorating as fast as they naturally would. The result is that, with the continued exercise program the aging process is not only slowed down you get to "wake your body up".

You may have heard of hormone replacement therapy as an anti aging tool. Intense exercise is the cheaper, natural way of doing exactly the same thing. It is also much more effective but you can't afford to waste time with exercises that aren't going to do the job. Not all types of exercise will coerce your body into releasing this anti aging magic.

The types of exercises that will stimulate your body to release this very special "fitness hormone" are large muscle group, multi joint exercises that recruit a large number of muscle fibers at once. The workout must be strenuous and sustained enough to create muscle exhaustion.

A typical workout would be a series of four to six different strength training exercises targeting different muscle groups for the duration of about one hour twice per week. It is not about working longer it is about working harder which will give the greatest "bang for your buck". Ideally for maximum results you would build up to working at this level of intensity under the guidance of a gym instructor so the program is effective and safe. This will also be a great investment as you will receive at least three times the results from your program in half of the time.
