The Birth control pill as a type of contraception

Hormonal contraceptive methods are widely used by women all over the world. Cerazette is a mini-pill, while Yasmin and Dianette are combined contraceptive pills. Read further to know more about these oral contraceptive pills.

People who are sexually active from a young age and even married couples know the importance of using a safe contraception method.  For a long time now, women have trusted hormonal contraception in order to prevent pregnancy. The hormonal contraceptive methods help you give a better control over unplanned pregnancy. The recent studies indicate that oral contraceptive pills are gaining popularity at a fast pace because of the ease and convenience which they offer.

The oral contraceptive pills contain artificial female hormones called progestogen and oestrogen. These hormones occur naturally in the female body which play a major role in your reproductive cycle. When these artificial female hormones are supplied in the body, they interfere in the reproductive cycle in such a way that it prevents a woman from being pregnant. The contraceptive pills are either combination pills or mini-pills. The combination pill consists of both the female hormones, while the mini-pills are composed of only one hormone, progestogen. The mini-pills are also referred to as ‘progestogen only pill’.

Cerazette is a mini-pill which has proved to be almost 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. The main ingredient of this pill is desogestrel, synthetic progestogen, which helps in preventing ovulation so that no egg is released from the ovaries. It also thickens the cervical mucus which makes the entry of a sperm into the womb difficult, and alters the womb lining thus stopping an egg from attaching itself and growing. Since Cerazette does not contain oestrogen, it is highly suitable for women who cannot tolerate the effects of oestrogen or are breastfeeding.

Yasmin is a combination pill which comprises ethinylestradiol, synthetic oestrogen, and drospirenone, artificial progestogen. It can prevent pregnancy in three ways. Firstly, it makes your body to believe that ovulation has already occurred. Secondly, it makes the cervical mucus viscous so that a sperm is unable to penetrate the womb easily. If in case, an egg is released or fertilised then finally the womb lining is also altered due to which an egg is unable to attach itself and grow. Yasmin is highly popular as it reduces the water retention in your body and also the risk of weight gain.

Dianette is another combined contraceptive pill which not only prevents pregnancy but helps in treating acne and hirsutism (excess body hair) very effectively. Just like other contraception pills, this medication also prevents the risk of pregnancy in three ways. You can experience some mild side effects while taking this medication such as weight changes, headaches, changes in menstrual bleeding, upset stomach, nausea and decreased sex drive. If any of these side effects last for a long time then consult a doctor immediately. Like other contraceptive pillsArticle Submission, you are required to take this pill for 21 days of your menstrual cycle followed by a break of seven days. You can buy Dianette online from any of the registered online clinics after an online consultation with a medical professional. Your ordered medication will be dispatched to your doorstep without revealing your identity.
