The Brow Lift: All About This Cosmetic Procedure

Due to aging or genetics, many people are turning to a procedure called a brow lift to make them appear more youthful and vibrant. Here are some of the things you should know about this form of cosmetic surgery.

As people get older, their skin loses much of its firmness and elasticity. Places that were tight and firm when you were 25 are loose and sagging when you hit 50. Some people are fine with that. They choose to age naturally and aren’t bothered by their aging face when they look in the mirror. Others...aren’t quite willing to go into their golden years without a fight. One of the most prominent spot where aging starts to show itself is in the forehead area. To smooth out the lines and wrinkles in that area, many people choose to have a procedure called a brow lift.

There are several procedures that fall under the umbrella title of “brow lift”. These procedures are usually designed to lessen the effect of wrinkles in the forehead area and make the skin tighter and firmer, giving an overall younger looking appearance. The procedure itself is a delicate one. It involves the surgeon manipulating the tissue and skin that is the primary culprit behind age lines and wrinkles. Not uncommonly, the procedure is accompanies by other forms of cosmetic surgery, such as rhinoplasty.

The procedure usually falls into one of two categories. The first type is usually referred to as the classic brow lift. In this procedure, the surgeon makes one long incision, starting right around the top of the ears and moving across the entire hair line. The surgeon will adjust the line of this incision to best hide any scarring resulting from the surgery. If a man with male pattern baldness is having the procedure done, the surgeon can actually move the incision back towards the middle of the head if the hair line requires it.

The other procedure is called the endoscopic brow lift. In this instance, the surgeon will make shorter incisions instead of one long incision. From there, the doctor will introduce a scope, which is essentially a small camera. They will then use a screen projection to perform the surgery without having the need for as much access to the actual area for sight. Many people prefer this form of the procedure, as the scarring is minimized and recovery time for the surgery is usually lessened.

Whichever choice you make when having a brow lift doneArticle Search, the most important thing is to make sure you find a surgeon you can trust and confide in. Having a competent and professional team complete the procedure will make everything go that much more smoothly.
