The Inside Story Of Chelation Therapy

Chelation therapy means dispensing of chelating agents to remove toxic and dangerous substances from the body. EDTA is the main constituent of the chelation therapy. EDTA is an abbreviation of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. Our body regards this artificial amino acid as an alien substance. Generally, it used in metal poisoning cases in the body. It has an excellent tendency of binding bulky particles together and then expelling them out of the body.

There are two types of chelation therapies. One is oral and the other is intravenous. In the latter, the syringe is introduced into the veins, often in the wrists and that is how EDTA is introduced into the blood stream. In the chelation therapy, patients need a finite number of sessions. Oral chelation is a process in which the harmful toxic matter is dissipated out of the body by taking the preparation made orally, that is, through mouth. In comparison, intravenous chelation is better and far more effective than the oral chelation because the plaques in the blood vessels are hardly affected by the latter.

Oral therapy demands a large capacity of water intake and chelating agents are available in the tablet configuration, sprays form, powders and suppositories. Chelation vitamin tablets can also be found in the market containing vitamin C and minerals and are taken with other chelation products. Vitamins B, C, E, magnesium, folic acid, potassium, selenium, zinc and EDTA are also found as the constituents of some chelating products.

Chelation therapies have been proved a lot beneficial as it reduces free racial activity in the blood, normalizes cholesterol level, reduces blood clotting and chemical absorption in the body. It has been a lot helpful in treating arteriosclerosis. But, in general, they are used in the cases of metal poisoning in the body. The chelating agents act as detoxifying soldiers. They are also used in the cases of autism as it works to remove mercury from the brain of the patients suffering. This particular therapy is presently used in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems, depression, fatigue and also, in the case of cancer like deadly diseases. It is also used in enhancing skin.
