The Risks to Face When You Are a Fire Marshal

The term fire marshal is given to a person who is a working member of the fire department in a particular city or locality.  The technical definition of a fire marshal can be given as an officer who is duly assigned a job of fire prevention by the fire prevention bureau or the fire prevention department.

They are also referred to as fire safety officers or fire investigators or simply as firefighters.  These fire marshals are well trained and experienced enough to deal with intense situations involving a fire breakout.

Fire marshal as a profession should be chosen carefully.  This is because the risks involved in this job are many.  Whenever there is a fire breakout, these fire personnel are asked to rush to the spot at once and save the lives of helpless citizens and properties.  These firefighters, without any dissent jump into this mayhem with the only aim of saving and securing as much as possible.  But only god knows what awaits them.  They may give up their lives in this process, because anything involving fire is always hazardous.

Though the firefighters are well organized and equipped with high quality safety equipments like fire resistant vests, helmetsFree Reprint Articles, boots etc they are always in the face of danger.  At any point of time during their fire safety or evacuation operation they could face unforeseen calamities.

Consider a fire safety officer who has been asked to rush to a building where a huge fire has broke out.  Now in this emergency situation the firefighter though adequate with safety measures could be robbed of his life in a matter of seconds just by encountering the impact of the fall of a ceiling or a wooden shaft.  Danger can come in any forms.  Fire breakouts can cause short circuits in the electrical connections and these firefighters may step on to these loose connections and give up his life.  Sometimes the fire itself may be too intense to handle and the fire extinguishers possessed by these fire marshals may not help.

Sometimes the fire marshal calculators go wrong in assessing the number of marshals or officers they need to carry out the evacuation and safety operation.  This is a very dangerous situation considering the fact that most of the officers lose their lives in this miscalculation.  But risks are a part and parcel of everyone’s life and you have to face it.  So fire marshal profession should not be side lined.
