Understanding the Risks of Breast Lift Surgery

Nerve Damage

Parts of the breast or nipple may lose some feeling or become completely desensitized to stimulus. Reaction to Anesthesia

Aesthetic Dissatisfaction

Infection
Most infections following a breast lift occur within the first few days following the surgery. Infections are characterized by flu-like symptoms, especially a fever. Poor Wound Healing
Taking care of the incision site following breast lift surgery is the best defense against poor wound healing, however, this is another unpredictable complication. In some cases, it simply may take longer than usual for the wound to close, bruising to cease, and swelling to go down. In more severe cases, skin necrosis, or the death of tissue, and wound separation are possible. Bleeding, prolonged bruising or pain, fluid leakage, or anything else abnormal should be reported to your surgeon immediately.
