Use of detoxification for the purpose of constipation

We have although  heard about the role of detoxification in creating great health; and many of us have also experienced the detox process, some by attending a health retreat designed for this purpose even  and some by virtue of a supervised fast or cleansing program that  initiated by a naturopathic practitioner.

But what exactly is detoxification so therefore  and what is happening in the body when we much  engage in this type of specialized program?

Essentially  detoxification is the body's ongoing process of neutralizing and then  eliminating toxins from the tissues and organs of the body. It is the main  job of the liver to take harmful chemicals, toxins and byproducts of metabolism from the bloodstream so  and alter them into safer substances to be excreted via the organs of elimination.

This process is always happening automatically so that  just like we breathe and our hearts beat  and it's not something we need to think about on a day to day basis. It is mainly a natural state of the body to be continually cleansing, and most of the time we don't even notice  that it is happening.

With the amount of potentially harmful chemicals those  in our environment  our food, our personal care and general cleaning products, in air and water pollution so  and in the recreational drugs and medications that many people take; our body burden of toxic substances those can rise. It is estimated that somewhere there are 50,000+ chemicals in production that  with 10,000 of these used in food processing.

Medically speaking  constipation is usually is defined as fewer than so three bowel movements per week. Severe constipation is defined as less than one bowel movement into per week. There is no medical reason to have a bowel movement for  every day. Going without a bowel movement for two or three days does not cause physical discomfort, only mental distress for some people. Contrary to popular belief actually  there is no evidence that "toxins" accumulate when bowel movements are infrequent or that constipation leads to cancer.

The most common cause of constipation is a diet that is low in fiber and high in fat. People who eat plenty of high-fiber foods are less likely to become constipated.
 
Fiber -- both soluble and insoluble -- is the part of fruits, vegetables, and  than grains that the body cannot digest. Soluble fiber dissolves easily in the water and takes on a soft, gel-like texture in the intestines. Insoluble fiber passes through the intestines  that almost unchanged.
