Have you ever wondered who checks out the Dr reviews that are posted online? There are multiple websites where potential patients can look up information about prospective physicians. Insurance companies,Who Looks At Dr Reviews? Articles hospitals and third party organizations set up these sites. Those started by insurance companies and hospitals have been created in order to guide insured individuals to appropriate medical personnel. These types often have practical information listed such as where the office is located, what days of the week the practice is open, the hours of operation, the training and specialization of the physicians on staff and what insurance plans are accepted.

The varieties which have been created by third party organizations are more likely to be those that believe in freedom of speech and consumer rights. Consumer reports are commonly available for merchandise, services, restaurants, automobiles and more. Why not make the same type of reporting available for health care practitioners? What’s more important than who and where an individual is cared for medically? There are various times in a person’s life when they would be more apt to be searching for a new doctor than others. Here are some things to think about:

- Moved to a new location: When an individual or family moves to a new town, city or state, it is time to start scouting around for a new doctor. It is important to have rapid and convenient access to a Dr or hospital in case of an emergency or accident. Some illnesses require immediate attention and it is for this reason that a doctor’s office should be close to one’s home or office. Some practitioners should be closer to home while others may be more conveniently located near one’s place of employment. Some examples of “close to home” types are pediatricians or family doctors. They need to be close for middle of night emergencies as well as to be associated with a nearby hospital. A dermatologist is an example of an MD that might be more convenient if closer to work.

- Don’t like current practitioner: Some individuals choose to leave their existing MD because their experiences have been less than satisfactory. This is a good time to read up on other options to find a better fit.

- Change of healthcare coverage: Sometimes a person’s insurance plan changes due to employment or for other reasons. There are many doctors who take certain coverage and not others. It’s important to have a physician who takes a patient’s particular type of insurance.

- Specialist required: There are times during a person’s life when they need a specialist. Some examples may include an obstetrician when it’s time to give birth to a baby, a cardiologist if there are heart difficulties, a pediatrician when a family has kids and many more examples.

Online Dr reviews can be an informative way of gathering data when it comes time to select a new health care provider. It is helpful to be able to do research when you’ve moved, when your insurance has changed, when you need a specialist or don’t fit with your current MD.
