Pets are a big part of many people's lives and
with good reason. Not only do they offer laughs, headbutts, and
unconditional love, studies have shown that having a pet can make a
person feel less lonely and even lower someone's blood pressure.
Whether you have a cat, dog, rabbit, bird, pocket pet, or other

Pets are a big part of many people's lives
and with good reason. Not only do they offer laughs, headbutts, and
unconditional love, studies have shown that having a pet can make a
person feel less lonely and even lower someone's blood pressure.
Whether you have a cat, dog, rabbit, bird, pocket pet, or other
critter, creating a scrapbook devoted to them is a great way to
preserve the memories you have of them. Here's how you can do so....
First of all, gather up all the things you want
to include in your book. Some of these items may include your pet's
adoption papers, vet records, photographs, collar tags, and so on.
Organize these items so you can begin to plan out your book.
After
you've figured out what you want to put in your scrapbook, you can
start rounding up the supplies you're going to need. Some of these
items include paper, stickers and/or embellishments, magic markers,
rubber cement or glue, and scissors or maybe a rotary trimmer. You can
either purchase a scrapbook at a craft store or make your own by using
a binding machine. (More about this in a minute. ) When selecting your
paper, make sure it's acid-free and archival quality so you can enjoy
your creation for years to come.
Now that
you have your supplies, you can start putting your scrapbook together.
Lay out your pages and experiment with different arrangements before
adhering any items to the pages. That way, you can more items around if
you want or need to. This is the fun part of the process so let your
creativity flow. As you're scrapbooking, your pet may want in on the
action. Be sure to keep any toxins or sharp objects away from your
critter(s) so that they don't get sick or injured.
You
may want to leave some empty space in your scrapbook so you can add to
it at a later date. Then you'll be able to include pictures and stories
about your pet's future adventures and cute antics.
If
you chose to use loose-leaf scrapbook pages in lieu of an actual book,
you can use a binding machine to put it all together. Comb binding
machines can bind documents containing up to 425 pages and they're
relatively inexpensive and easy to come by. If you want to spend a
little bit more money, a thermal binding machine would be a great
choice because you can make hardcover books with it. That would allow
you to create a very impressive scrapbook that looks like it was made
by a professional.
Creating a pet scrapbook is fun, creatively challenging, and is
a perfect way to pay tribute to your pet(s). Whether you use a
store-bought scrapbook or go all out and bind your own, you'll find
that working on your book is rewarding and will make you think about
all the good times you've had with your critter(s). Good luck and happy
scrapbooking!
