Burning games for Xbox 360 backup discs is doable,The Easy Way For Burning Games For Xbox 360 Articles but not quite as easy as some make it sound. The game developers have made a great effort to protect their games from being pirated, and these copy protection schemes make it difficult for gamers to make copies of their own games. But, never fear, there are ways.

Copying Your Xbox 360 Games

The real trick to burning Xbox 360 games to DVD is getting the data from your original game disc to the hard drive on your computer. There are all kinds of technical difficulties that are encountered when attempting to copy the data, but why worry about the details when there is software for burning Xbox 360 games called "imgBurn" that can do the job. ImgBurn, which can be downloaded from an Internet website, is a game copying software application that will enable you to effortlessly copy and burn all of your Xbox 360 games.

Once you've installed imgBurn onto your computer, you need to get to the .iso and .dvd files for the game that you wish to copy. These files are available by either ripping the game or downloading the game files. Keep in mind that the process is perfectly legal provided you are downloading and burning Xbox 360 games that you own. Once you've downloaded these two files, open the .dvd file and copy the LAYER BREAK number that is in that file.

When that step has been completed, reopen the imgBurn application and click the OPTIONS tab. This will cause a new screen to display. Enter the LAYER BREAK number that you copied from the .dvd in the previous step, and then open the imgBurn's main screen and click "Create Disc from Image." A new window will open into which you can load the .iso file to burn to disc.

While on that screen, browse your PC files for the .iso file that you had, and then open it up. Select a WRITE speed of 4X to guarantee optimum reliability, and then proceed to burning the Xbox 360 game to the disc. Within about 45 minutes the system should inform you that the process of burning Xbox 360 games is completed.

Playing Your Copied Games

If you followed all the imgBurn instructions properly, you should have found the process to be fairly straightforward. Playing the newly burned Xbox 360 games may provide a greater challenge than burning games for Xbox 360 systems. Usually the Xbox console and your PC may need a little tweaking, and special software, which is readily available from the Internet, may be required.
