Does Your Classified Ad have Proven Sales Power?

Why proven sales power? It makes sense to use the same
techniques that mail order prople use. These techniques
have been scientifically proven by testing the headlines
and testing the copy of each ad to see what worked and
what didn't.

The most important part of your ad is the headline. It is
sometime referred to as the ad for your ad. The purpose of
the headline is to select your prospect and entice them into
reading the rest of the ad copy and make a sale or convince
them to take some action.

Remember that your ad should state the benefits to the
prospect and not the features of the product or service.

Write several headlines for each ad and pick the best one.

These are the four types of appeals for a good headline.

Self-Interest
News
Curiousity

The self-interest of the prospect is the most important,
followed by news. It is best to use curiousity in
combination with other appeals and not by itself.

Give the reader news using words such as:
New, Discover,Introducing, Announcing, Now,It's Here,
At Last, and Just Arrived

You could begin the headline with the word 'Announcing' a
brand new product or newsletter. Then as time passes replace
the word 'Announcing' with the word 'New'. Then after another
period of time use the phrase 'It's here'. Using this
technique you have a complete series of headlines.
Example: Announcing Business Tips Newsletter
New Business Tips Newsletter
It's here the Business Tips Newsletter

You can put a date in your headline, feature a reduced
price, feature a special offer, offer something Free.

Next series uses keywords. You can use the following words:
How To,How, Why, Which, Who Else?, Wanted, This, Advice
Examples: How to Win Friends and Influence People
How I earn $200 dollars a week for 4 hours work
Wanted! people who want a to work at home

These suggestions of giving the reader news, using
keywords, providing dates or price or free offer are provided
to spark your creative juices so you can write many headlines
and pick your best.
