History of the Carrboro townCarrboro town is situated in the orange county of United States of America. This town is in the State of North Carolina. Carrboro town originally known as West End because of its location, According to the Carrboro news the settlement of this small town in the west end increased after Thomas F Lloyd of Chapel Hill town built the Alberta cotton mill near to the railroad depository in the year of 1898. And in the year of 1909, Julian Shakespeare Carr purchased this Alberta cotton mill and other nearby buildings and he adding them to the network of mills that became the very popular and well known Durham Hosiery Mills. In the year of 1911, this west town was incorporated and firstly the name of this city was Venable. But after only two years, according to the Carrboro news the town was renamed Carrboro, after Julian Shakespeare Carr began providing streets and electric power to this town. In the year of 1920, the Melba Movie theater was built and Carrboro town was home of this theater. This tremendous theater was located 120 E Main Street of the Carrboro town. Carrboro is very beautiful town and there are many things to do in Carrboro for the citizens of this town. The huge natural spring public pool in the Carrboro town was closed due to tensions arises from race and sex separation. Some of the very unique architectural treasures of this town are its 150 mill houses. These houses were built in the 1910s to 1930s. These mill homes were originally built by the Thomas F. Lloyd and Julian Shakespeare Carr for their mill workers and their families. A large amount of Latino immigrants began to moving in the Carrboro city in the year of 1990. When these Latino immigrants settled in this Carrboro city they brought the foods , culture and arts of their native countries to this Carrboro town. This city is very attractive and charming and there are many fun things to do in Carrboro town for the tourists as well.
