When you join an affiliate program you are given a replicated site, however, when you consider home business websites it is important that you host your own.

One reason people join affiliate marketing and network marketing programs is they are given a website to promote from. However when you consider home business websites it is much better for you to host a site of your own.

Here are a handful of reasons why this is important!

1. You want to differentiate yourself in the marketplace. If you are promoting the same website as everyone else how can you do that?

It makes it much harder for you to become a force to reckon with in your own targeted niche if you are using the website that comes from the home business opportunity. If you want to build a long term business you need your own website.

2. You do not have control when you use a replicated website. Things constantly change in the market and you will need to adapt your website to what is going on at any given time.

When you use a replicated website you cannot make any changes to it. You also cannot control the content that is on it because you are at the mercy of the program giving you their website.

3. You may want to change products or programs that you promote. If something new comes out that appeals to you, you cannot add it to a replicated website.

You may want to stop promoting that specific product and promote something else. With a replicated website you cannot add new products.

4. When you have your own home business websites you can monetize it in various ways. Most successful Internet marketers include a combination of pay per click, cost per action, and cost per sale programs on their websites.

This allows them to maximize the amount of income they making and give their website visitors options to choose from.

5. You will want to add a blog to your website. You can't do that if you have a replicated website because you cannot add a link to your blog.

You cannot even set up a blog on a replicated website because you're not hosting it yourself. Many Internet marketers prefer to make the blog their primary website and you can't do that if you're using a website from a specific program.

6. Build an email list. You will want to add sign-up forms to all of your web pages so you can build an email list for future follow-up. Again you cannot do that when you are using the website provided from the affiliate or network marketing program you are in.

These are several reasons of why you should host your own home business websites. If you are serious about making money online there really is no other option!
