Newport Beach Photographer Explains Photographing of InfantsPhotographing infants can be a challenge for any photographer and is an area of growth for photographers in Orange County. 1. Charge more for newborn session than your regular session price. Normally it takes more time to photograph an infant than it does to photograph a family or a senior. You need to be more patient with an infant. They don't follow instructions well and tend to sleep, eat and cry whenever they feel like it. If your normal session takes one hour, plan on shooting for two. 2. When shooting Mom and the baby try not to emphasize the Mom's belly - remember she just had a baby! 3. You will likely have some shots of parents kissing the baby. When they do so, ask them not to pucker. This is a natural reaction but when frozen for eternity in an image, it looks very unnatural. 4. Get a number of white towels. You can stack these and lay the baby on top, use them as backdrops, or wrap them around the baby. 5. Keep the towels and set under a warm lamp to prepare it for use for by the baby. This is especially important when striving for a nice peaceful sleeping shot. One cold towel can undue a half hour worth of getting the baby to fall asleep work. 6. Use newborn sessions to establish long-term client relationships. The couple is likely feeling very aware of changes within their family. They may have a strong desire to capture a moment of time through photography. This is an excellent time to see if they would like to schedule photography packages. First year newborn packages, yearly preschool and family packages will be attractive to your clients at this time. 7. Keep plenty of diapers and wipes on hand. In addition, plan on getting sprinkled from time to time. This will be no big deal to you parent photographers but may come as a surprise to those who haven?t much been around babies. The newborn photography market is rewarding. It is also a segment which is growing. By following the above suggestions , a photographer can enter this market more effectively.Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com
