If you still have an ancient,News from the world of kitchens Articles and a bit romantic, idea of the kitchen, with the mum in her apron and sleepers cooking for her children and husband, thus if you still consider the kitchen as a place which is especially meant to cook meals, you have definitely missed some steps. Kitchens certainly still have this function, and many of the changes and innovations that have brought modern kitchens and classic but hyper-technological kitchens to our houses, were undoubtedly meant to improve the functionality of the kitchen itself, but 21st century kitchens are not only functional. The kitchen, which still plays a primary role in each house, is becoming more and more something to show off and to boast about with guests, because, more than any other room of the house, it can mix the latest trends and the most innovative technological improvements.

Nowadays choosing a kitchen does not only mean buying pieces of furniture and appliances, it also means preferring a style to another one, choosing the model that best represents your style and personality, exactly as happens with a nice dress or a new car. We can claim, without sounding exaggerated, that the kitchen has become a sort of status symbol. And exactly as happens with clothes and cars, also kitchens follow fashion trends. One of the latest trends in furniture, notably in kitchens, is mixing different styles together, as the great fashion houses do when they mix different types of clothes together resulting in unusual, but surprisingly harmonious combinations. And on the market you can find, for example, country kitchens made of wood furniture, which could not be more classic than that, combined with aluminum appliances, which create a new, but not out of place, matching.

Furniture, but also accessories, can be real design objects: fancifully colored and shaped, they can make each kitchen unique and aesthetically valuable. Even the commonest and most trivial objects, like dishes and tableware, can embellish and make a kitchen special, if they are the fruit of the work of a good creative designer, and it is more appropriate than ever these days to claim that the table is not to be set, but dressed, and it get dressed with tablecloths and accessories that would not look out of place in an atelier. And what about appliances, which are more and more innovative and hyper-technological, and which make our kitchens look like futuristic, almost space islands?

Modern kitchens are very different from the kitchens of the past, and kitchens manufacturers are asked to offer more and more innovative models, which do not only need to be functional, but also have to satisfy the eye and the aesthetic sense of customers.
