Obviously,Solutions To Solving The Work At Home Mom Crisis Articles the first thing to do when looking to be a work at home mom is to start finding an opportunity for employment. Time is something that moms don’t have plenty of, so going through reams and reams of online jobs to try to figure out which ones are legitimate and which fake is not really an option for the work at home mom. The best way to start is not by searching for that job, but rather by letting your employer find you.

Skill identification

Firstly, as a work at home mom, you need to identify your skills that could be of value to the outside world. Once identified, put together a simple and eloquent, yet comprehensive resume of your personal details, education and experience. Be sure not to include too much personal data though that could be used against you by an identity thief.  Just your name, age and location will do. This resume can then be posted on a number of websites under the specific skills that you have and the type of home based jobs that you would be willing to look at. Websites to post on can include the big name career and job search sites, but should definitely include at least one site which specialises in posting resumes on the internet. On most sites, you can alter the settings relating to privacy so as you can almost guarantee only legitimate job offers and prevent yourself from being spammed and scammed.

Freelance websites

Aside from career sites, there are also freelance facilities for home based professionals including the work at home mom. At these sites, you can sign up for free, create a profile and list your various skills online. You will be asked if you would like to be notified of jobs that match your description and naturally your answer should be yes. Though all three of the aforementioned will mean that your mailbox will be busier than ever, it will still narrow the options and hopefully totally omit the junk.

Focussed search

If this does not work quickly enough, then a search on relevant websites may be called for. There are many of these that focus entirely on the work at home mom and offer suitable jobs backed by research of scams. There are also websites that are devoted to legitimate work at home jobs and are sure to have something for you. Either way, a quick and focussed search can produce the desired results.

Honesty works

Upon applying for the position, it is best to be honest up front and let your employer know that you are a work at home mom. This will ensure that they get no nasty surprises when you aren’t available to work during soccer practices or a ballet class. Clearly state what times of the day you will be planning to work and what times you will be out of commission.

Scheduling your time

Upon working out these times, you will also be establishing a schedule, which is a very important part of being a work at home mom. It is all too easy to spend the morning attending to said dishes and nappies as opposed to getting on with your work. The lack of a looming boss and the advantage of flexi time can be a wonderful freedom, but will also lead to a devastating crisis when combined with a lack of discipline. This crisis may be in the form of a deadline not met, and so consequently a client lost or an unpaid bill at the end of the month.

Space to work

Lastly, after landing the job and setting your schedule, be sure to find a quiet and permanent space to work. The work at home mom still requires focus and concentration, especially when faced with less available hours in the day to get it done. Allow your office to be your place, and so when you return, there will be no little fingerprints on your computer screen, no little scribbles in your books, just work done effectively, money in the bank and the free time to spend caring for those that you love.
