Steps to repair guniteEverything in this world requires maintenance and repairing at one time or the other. So does your pool made up of gunite or concrete or whatever. The common effects of ageing, like cracks and blisters, spots are seen many times in the walls of the pools. • With the help of a saw, cut out about half an inch deep crack and then about it, cut a crack of say an inch to both the sides. There are tools in the market for this. • Wait till the time the crack has no wet elements left in it. After it is dried, clear out all the dust particles out of it. • Take caulk and with its help, cover the crack in such a manner that you go length wise over it. And over that, leave a space of about quarter of an inch. This space will be covered by the plaster with which it will be covered. • After the application, wait till the time caulk gets dried up. • Take some water and mix in it some quantity of sand and a patch of the pool itself or some Portland cement and an agent that is responsible for the bonding of the materials. • Now add few drops of water to the crack and moisten it, but make sure to not to rinse it. Now take a sharp knife and with its help apply the mixture prepared on it and then with the help of a trowel, push the mixture onto the crack in such a manner that the space for air is eliminated entirely. • Now do not wait till the mixture gets dried up, because if you do, then the shape acquired by it in the end would be undesirable and would make you feel like the owner of a broken pool. Give it a flat shape and even it out. Make it look like in such a manner that the merging of the two surfaces takes place. Make sure that the patch is wet for most of the time, because if it is not so , then it is going to have cracks again.Article Tags: Wait Till Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com
