If a stove is used in conjunction it may be fueled by wood or coal. While it can be energy efficient this system is expensive to install and requires a long warm up time. Cooling cannot be accomplished with this system.

Probably another popular sight when it comes to heating and air systems is the Steam Radiant system. Like the regular radiant system it is used only to warm an area not cool it. These radiators are generally cat iron uprights that radiate warmth using steam. The boiler can be fueled by natural gas, electricity, propane, or oil. They warm quickly and are comfortable. Unfortunately they are a more antique way or warming your home and like the water radiators they cannot cool your home or business so you will have to have a separate system.
