What follows are some garage flooring ideas for you to consider for your place. These ideas are all affordable and easily doable for most home owners. Before getting started,Garage Flooring Ideas for Looks and Functionality Articles let me just say that if you prefer a standard gray concrete floor in your garage then that is fine. Nobody else really cares much what your garage floor looks like, but if you are reading this then there is a good chance that you, or your spouse, does care.

First of all, garage flooring ideas have to do with what you can do with it to either make it more attractive, or more functional. At first you may wonder how a floor can be made more functional. We'll get to that in a minute. First of all, let's talk about how to make it look nicer. One idea is to purchase color tiles that are made specifically for garages. These are cool because not only are they durable, they look amazing. You can mix and match different colors for different looks. Red, white, blue, black, green, and gray are all common colors you can use. Think how fun and classy a nice checkered black and white floor would look. If by chance one of the tiles gets damaged, it is easily replaced. Most of these types of tiles are interlocking rubber, and stand up well to the weight of cars and trucks. They also clean up easily should you have an occasional spill of some sort. And that gets to how a floor can be more functional. Being able to replace tiles is something you simply cannot do with traditional surfaces like concrete.

Other garage flooring ideas include things like epoxy coatings. This is a great option for many people. Once you have properly cleaned and primed the concrete, you simply roll on the epoxy coating. While it is setting up you can scatter grit material to add traction to the floor. Many textures and colors can be used. This is a cost effective and quick option that many find very attractive.

One of my personal favorite garage flooring ideas is to use large rubber mats. These are great because they can be moved and positioned at will. They come in many different patterns and sizes. They can be easily cleaned when they get dirty. They protect your floor from damaging oils and grime that every car inevitably drips and drops.

A garage is a wonderful place for many reasons. It is the perfect place to store lots of things, park your vehicles, hang your bikes, do projects in, and just generally use as you see fit. For most home owners, the garage floor is not something they really think that much about. However, with just a little thought, you can not only maintain the functionality of the space, you can also implement one or two of these garage flooring ideas to make it a nicer looking part of your home as well. Isn't it nice to know you have options? Be creative and have fun with it. Your garage doesn't have to be boring and dull any longer.
