You may have already called to set up an appointment for the maids to come to your home. You have a date and time chosen and you can't wait for them to take over. In order to make the most of this experience, it is important to set priorities of what tasks are the most important to you. It is also important to let them know if there are any special instructions with any of the rooms or certain materials in the home.

What Is the Most Important?

When you come home, what is the first thing that you are going to look for? If the maids are coming, you know that they are going to work on the entire house and give it a good cleaning. However, what if you haven't quite scheduled enough time to get the whole thing handled? What if there are some rooms that really don't need much TLC? In these cases, you want to set a list of priorities.

Always leave a list. Write down the things that are the most important and the least important. For example, if you have a teenager, you may think that it isn't worth having that bedroom cleaned. It may be that the maids would not even be able to walk across the room without tripping over the piles of clean and dirty clothes. In this case, be sure to let them know that there is no reason to worry about the second bedroom down the hall to the right. This gives them more time to work on other areas.

If you are having company over, you may want to have the bathrooms and kitchens cleaned and the rest of the time spent getting the guest room ready. In a note, let them know that after the major things are done, please make sure the guest room is ready. You can let them know that you want the sheets put on the bed, the floors vacuumed and everything in their dusted. These notes are the best way to communicate with the maids to let them know what you need the most help with.

Special Instructions

Sometimes, there are things in the house that need to be cleaned a special way. It may be that you only use a certain cleaner on the floors because it doesn't damage the wood and won't leave streaks. In this case, be sure to let them know that the only thing that can be used on the floor is this specific cleaner and leave it out on the counter for them to use. Again, these notes are the best way to let them know what types of things have specific instructions.

If you have pets, make sure that they are not in the home. Sometimes, even though you may think that it wouldn't be a big deal to leave the dog in, it might be tough for the maids to be able to move around the house freely. If you canArticle Submission, leave them in the backyard or in a kennel so that they are out of the way and all of the work can be completed.
