Underfloor heating is not a new trend. Around 37 B.C-A.D 668, the Koreans invented an underfloor heating system, called an ondol (meaning 'warm-stone') and it is still being used in some parts of Korea. Basically, underfloor heating system is a type of central heating that uses radiant heat or conduction or indoor climates.

Underfloor heating systems have gained popularity among public worldwide, because people do not like to walk on frosty floors in the winter season. Also, the cost of installation has decreased over the past few years, making it the best option for homes. Although underfloor heating systems are still expensive as compared to other prevailing heating systems, the cost is compensated, as these are beneficial for a long run. Apart from this, there is no noise, which makes it undetectable and hence, no one realizes that it is even installed. Underfloor heating system is also environment friendly, as there are no gas emissions. Controlling your heating system is also very simple and easy.

The electric underfloor heating is preferred among most of the households, as the features it provides are very impressive. Here are some features:

• It consists of wire cables that are woven like a mat. They are available in long lengths of wires that can be molded according to the shape of the premises.

• There are also ready-made mat like structures available for installation, but they are already molded into pre-set shapes and cannot be changed.

• Electric system is also available in numerous designs- carpet flooring heaters, area hug heaters, hard wood floor heaters and vinyl floor heaters.

• These dry installations are laid down on the sub floor, but in case of carpeting or rugs, the heaters are installed on the surface padding. On other floorings, heaters are installed on insulation boards or beneath the top surface and are then covered with tiles or other flooring surfaces.

• They have some basic features that may vary on the basis of area or surface. Some installations even use mud.

• Easy to install and cost-effective

• Give the freedom to control the temperature. In this way, you can save the heating of the entire area.

• Are invisible and provide enough space in the room. However, the installation height is maximum 1mm, which is hardly visible.

• The time needed for installation is very less, and the process can be completed in just a few days, but it also depends on the surface area.
