Many people dream of being a lawyer when they get older. However, the path to becoming a successful attorney, such as a bankruptcy attorney can be a difficult path.

Even at a young age, many children say they want to be lawyers when they grow up. Being an attorney, any type of attorney, a bankruptcy attorney, a real estate attorney, etc. is a lucrative career that can bring in a nice paycheck. However, many people do not consider the work, effort, and politics behind becoming an attorney. It is not an easy path, rather one that takes, courage, determination and hard work, let’s look at the road to becoming a bankruptcy lawyer as an example. 
While one may think that the path to becoming a bankruptcy lawyer starts in college, but as a matter of fact, it starts in high school. The grades that you get in high school are going to determine which college you can go to. The college that you go to and the grades that you get there will ultimately determine which law school you go to and that will determine how much money you can make after graduating from law school. So as you can see, if you are serious about going to law school and becoming an attorney, you need to start planning as early as high school.
Once you are in college, you need to be thinking about getting involved in activities which will help you build your law school resume. Take leadership roles in clubs and organizations. Take classes that both interest you and challenge you. There is no major that is “pre-law” so take classes that are interesting to you. Once you are in law school, it is all classes devoted to studying the law, so enjoy the variety while you are in undergrad. 
In order to become a bankruptcy attorney, or an attorney for that matter, you will need to take the law school admission test, more commonly known as the LSAT. The LSAT is a very big factor in your application for law school. AS a matter of fact, the majority of admissions officers consider it the most important factor in your application. The reason why is because it has a very close correlation to your first year performance as a law student. 
Once you have made it into law school, you need to stay focused. Study hard and get good grades. If you are interested in becoming a bankruptcy attorney, make sure to take electives that will prepare you for this field of law. Also, try to get summer jobs working at law firms that specialize in this area of the law. 
Once you have graduated from law school, the last big obstacle you will have to face is the bar exam. With the proper preparation and dedication, you can pass this test. You will then be a bankruptcy attorney!
