Don't Invite A DUI Lawyer To Your Office PartyThe annual holiday office party is an event that can be fun if you don't have to invite a DUI lawyer on your ride home. Here are some things to think about. A word of warning this year: Don't make decisions that require you to invite a DUI lawyer to bail you out at the end of the festivities. Sleigh bells are beginning to jingle and the holiday office party invitations are in the mail. It's time to shop for that new red and green sweater and to arrange a babysitter for the kids. The holiday season is swarming with parties and get-togethers. If you're a social butterfly, you may adore this time of year and just can't get enough of the tinsel and eggnog season. If you're a recluse, this might be a time of year you dread. Wallflowers prefer to be home hunched over their Facebook accounts rather than making idle chitchat with their co-workers. Getting drunk on rum and hot toddies might sound like fun to both social butterflies and wallflowers but if it's combined with a set of car keys and a drive home, it's a bad choice. Here are some tips for both personality types:- Social butterflies: Another name for these partiers is 'extravert.' Extraverts thrive on being in the company of others. If they don't get enough of it, they crack up. These types are often referred to as the life of the party and enjoy themselves immensely at these festive galas. Here are some tips for them to stay out of the slammer: - Find a DD in advance: A DD is a designated driver. It's important to have a friend or co-worker agree to drive you home should you decide to get sloppy drunk. - Make arrangements with a cab driver: If you know you're going to be slurring your speech within the first hour of the bash, call a cab driver in advance to book a ride home at a specific time. - Think twice about being the party animal of your office: You may have lots of fun but your work-mates might never look at you with respect again after seeing you goosing the mailroom clerks or singing along with the band. - Wallflowers: Wallflowers are also referred to as 'introverts.' These individuals are more comfortable in small groups, with one or two friends or alone. Having to show up in festive garb with a huge crowd of co-workers can be tortuous. They've always gotten failing grades in 'making small talk 101.' Here are some tips for them: - Don't drink to loosen up: Drinking a dozen shots of tequila won't make you appear charming and social. It'll make you look like a drunk introvert. - Be who you are: You know you're more comfortable observing rather than dancing under the disco ball. So here's your chance to watch a crazy gathering. Observe and write about it later. Could be a great blackmail novel. - Be the DD: If you agree to be the DD for co-workers , they'll love you even if you stand by a wall all night.Holiday parties can be fun or not. Inviting a DUI lawyer to bail you out at the end will be a buzz kill like no other. Don't drink and drive home from the annual office gala. Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com
