Huffy Corporation,HUFFY Recalls Tricycles Due to the Possibility of Child Accidents Articles the well-known bike manufacturer based in Ohio, has sent out a recall for its Slider Tricycle. Over 5,000 units were sold from Toys R Us this year, each priced at about $100.

The issue with the tricycles is in the handlebars. The configuration is incorrect and it can cause a loss of control for the child riding it. Huffy and Toys R Us are requesting that anyone who purchased the vehicle cease use of it immediately.

Currently there are zero reported injuries caused by the Slider, and hopefully it will remain that way. Children are already so prone to harm during playtime, so adding a defective toy in the mix is problematic.

In case of product recall, follow these steps:

First, make sure that the product details on the recall and the product details of the item owned match up. A lot of times, a company would put out a recall of a specific model of something, and not all versions of that model are included in the recall.

Second, if everything does match, immediately stop using the product. If it is a food product, do not eat it or feed it to animals. There is no point risking the chance that the issue doesn’t affect all products.

Third, depending on what the company or retailer stipulates in the recall, return the item to the store from which it was purchased. There, a full refund should be awarded pending other instructions.

It is always important to keep up on recalled products, especially if dealing with second-hand items. Some products may be defective in a small way; but others can be fatal.
